Housefull is just out and Deepika is surprised at the attention generated over her bikini scene in the movie. Just as she’s surprised, she doesn’t want to make a big deal out of it. “The highlight of the film is not the bikini. The focus is not skin show.
When some people think so, it takes away credibility from the director. It’s much more than that. I remember people making a big deal about Priyanka (Chopra) wearing a swimsuit in Dostana but we know that the film was a lot more than that,” says Deepika.
The actress says she has no qualms about wearing a bikini, if the script demands it. Getting in shape before the scene was a top priority for Deepika and her co-stars Lara Dutta and Jiah Khan. “The three of us would go to the gym and share notes on our diet. In fact I remember bringing salad for the other girls as well. Lara would also bring healthy food sometimes,” she says.
Deepika is now looking forward to an eventful year with three films on hand. There’s Danish Aslam’s Break Ke Baad, Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se and Pradeep Sarkar’s Lafange Parinde.
